The Lakeside Heritage Society is commemorating the 150th anniversary of Hotel Lakeside by promoting a book written by Lakeside historian, George R. McCormick.

 

Hotel Lakeside: 150 Years of Hospitality is 102-page hardbound book, extensively researched and carefully edited, with 81 photographs and illustrations. Much of its content has never been published before.Readers will explore Hotel Lakeside’s rich history, from its building in 1875 to today.

The Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) is a private, non-profit organization organized in the state of Ohio, dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Lakeside, Danbury Township, the Village of Marblehead and the Historic Chautauqua Movement in Ohio and all of North America.


Founded in 1968 as the Lakeside Heritage Club, LHS operates the Heritage Hall Museum and Archives and provides various educational programs to the surrounding community.

To preserve, promote, and advance
the history of Lakeside, the Marblehead Peninsula, and the Chautauqua Movement
in America, and to be a public resource

for that history

Where is Lakeside,Ohio?

Lakeside Chautauqua is located on the Marblehead Peninsula, about 50 miles east of Toledo, 80 miles west of downtown Cleveland, and 120 miles north of Columbus, on beautiful Lake Erie.
